Warlock of the Mages Guild
Journeyman of the Fighters Guild
Property:

Various magickally enchanted stuff for everyday use.
Debt:
None.
Background:
Annie-Ma is a language student from High Rock. She believes that cats
have a secret language. She is a devout worshipper of Stendarr, and
used to hang out in the Mercy (as his temples are called) a lot. Lately
she has taken a strong interest in applied magic. She has enchanted 8
pieces of jewelry to boost her dodging, hand-to-hand and critical strike
skills. For this reason, Annie-Ma is a dangerous opponent at all times.
However, she would prefer to talk her way out of a conflict wherever
possible. With the new magickal protection, she has finally been able
to take up her great project of exploring the dungeons of Tulune and in
particular look for non-human denizens in order to learn their
languages. Unlike most linguists, Annie-Ma insists that languages
should be learned by practice, rather than formal education.
Annie-Ma is also a superior bargainer and a frequent visitor to the pawn
shop in Grayidge, Tulune, where she gets the best prices on the west
coast.
Annie-Ma belongs to the Linguist class. Linguists consider only
language skills important, and will try to talk their way out of any
situation rather than resorting to violence. However, they are very
quick to learn new skills, including the more warlike ones, if needed.
While no self-respecting linguist will ever wear armor, they have no
qualms about using a dagger or any nearby weapon in self defense.

You may want to set reaction time to slowest and stock up on the speed
skill if you take your characters' deaths personally. If you play a
cautious (verging on cowardly) style in the beginning of the game,
though, you will find the Linguist to be quite playable.
