Our reporter took this picture at one of the frequent drills
of the Daggerfall Voluntary Fire Corps (DVFC, pronounced DavyFic).
In times past, fires were a major issue in Daggerfall, thanks
to all the amateur spellcasters testing their "fireball"
spells in their tavern rooms and elsewhere. One of the first
acts of the new Emperor Uriel Septim was to order all houses
to be spelled with Resistance to Fire. Today fires are very
rare, but the tradition of frequent training remains as popular
as ever.
